About Us

Welcome to the FOCUS UNSW Blog Page! Whether you’ve landed on our page by accident or were searching for our fellowship, we’re glad you’re here! Are you exploring and wish to find more about Orthodoxy, have some questions that you want answered or want to meet fellow young Orthodox Christians? …then you’ve come to the right place!

FOCUS is an Orthodox Christian Fellowship at the University of New South Wales, under the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia. We hold weekly meetings that involve bible studies, talks or discussions led by our chaplain, fellowship members, or guest speakers on a range of topics.

Topics include the writings of our Church Fathers, practical aspects of life in the Orthodox Church, the view of our Church on modern issues, and the lives of the saints. We also hold semesterly forums, group discussions, and on occasion, bookstalls on the library walkway (look out for us!).

For Semester 1, 2016, we will be meeting weekly in 'The Lodge Room' of the Squarehouse Level 3, on Tuesdays from 1-2pm. So why not come along to one of our talks and learn more about the faith?

We’re all growing on our spiritual journeys and can gain much encouragement from each other and learning about our faith. In a busy Uni week, these are beautiful opportunities to take a break and be in communion with God.

So come and experience the beauty of the Orthodox Faith! In the words of St John Chrysostom, “It is impossible to verbally describe the sweetness of honey to one who has never tasted honey, so the goodness of God cannot be clearly communicated by way of teaching if we ourselves are not able to penetrate into the goodness of the Lord by our own experience”

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us: (focus.unsw@hotmail.com)

We’d love to see you!

With prayers,

FOCUS
